Welcoming A New Addition

Everyone Meet Annie!

She is a full Black Lab, complete with papers and is beautiful! She is 7 weeks old today so just a new little puppy. Madison loves her and was the one to name her. At first Madison wanted to call her "cute puppy" that's it, so we had to explain the name thing and than she got it. She has been a lot of fun and also a lot of work I will be the first to admit it is like potty training.....bathroom every 1/2 hour to an 1 hour. But we have fallen in love with her. She loves Garrett will just crawl up in his lab and sit down, and loves to lick his ears and toes.
Anytime you are in town stop by and see her. And look forward to many post that will involve our new addition, Annie!

Growing Up

Garrett received this little outfit as a Christmas gift and he wore it for the first time on Sunday and when I looked at him I couldn't help but think how fast he has grown up. From his rocky beginnings to a strong, healthy and I may be bias but HANDSOME LITTLE BOY! The coming days, weeks, months and years will be filled with memories of all the things I know he is going to do and attempt to do and all the times he will make up laugh because right now he is a lot of fun to be around, always brightening any cold and gloomy day!
ON A SIDE NOTE - This last week wasn't all the happy for him we went through 4 very trying days and nights. Garrett got his bottom teeth 5 months ago and nothing since well this week he decided to mix things up and all four of his front top teeth came him. He was not happy, and nothing worked....but now all have broken the skin and life has returned to the happy normal state, although strange to see four teeth on the top of his mouth.....TOTAL TEETH COUNT = 6

Another Day

So I know I post a lot of pictures of Madison dressed up bu that is what we do a lot of the time...an awful lot of the time! Madison's cousin Caitlyn sent her the outfit she wore last year at her ballet recital, it is a big hit, Madison puts it on and then instructs Garrett and myself to sit on the couch while she performs various dances complete with lyrics. They are very cute and one of these days I will get it on video (she always stops when I turn it on). I just couldn't resist taking another couple of pictures a fun little girl! I guess that is what little girls do they entertain and are constantly be dressing up!

Can We go to the Beach?

Madison came out of her room yesterday, ready to go to the beach. She was serious! In a swimsuit from last year that fits but she has grown to tall and it is starting to pull......darn we will have to get a new one.....sun glasses and pink little sandals. I think she is beginning to dread the "wonderful" winter days we are having! She was so cute in her sunglasses, after taking some pictures she put on her little robe and walked around in her swimsuit for awhile, taking time to pretend she really was at the beach and build a sand castle out of toys!
On a note though.....I went to Target and couldn't believe they already have swimsuits out. It is January!!!!!
This morning we woke up and what do you know we looked outside and it is snowing again!

First Slide Experience

A Day of Play!

Yesterday we went on a play group to a place called Blast Off. We had never been there but they have a indoor play area with slides and tunnels, dress up etc. The kids had a blast! Madison loved running around and getting out all her bottled up energy! Garrett I am sure wished inside he could do more.. He climbed on everything he possibly could, and to my surprise he is quite the little climber. We got to play for a couple hours and it was well worth the 3 dollars! I got a lot more pictures of Garrett, Madison was far too busy to take pictures!
And than.........................................................that night,

We were invited to go to Leo's Place, a pizza place with a indoor play area and token games. The play area isn't as big but that doesn't stop us from having some fun, plus this one is enclosed so you don't hear all the screaming. Dave and Diantha also got on the slide...Garrett too. We don't normally plan so much in one day but it was fun anyway.....beats staying in the house because it is so cold outside!

Moon Sand

Last night for family night after a short little lesson we got to experiment with "moon sand" This stuff is really neat.....doesn't dry out and sticks together like playdoh but is sand! Madison loves it and Dave and I really got into it too. I would recommend for any family. Kept Madison busy for a awhile and the first thing this morning she asked if she could play with her sand. It made for a good activity to take our minds off the fact that it is so cold and we can't go outside (We have been well into the negative numbers for almost a week now!)

Dentist Time

Madison went to the dentist yesterday and it was a huge improvement from 6 months ago when she went. 6 months ago she cried and cried and cried and wouldn't open her mouth. She had a cavity the dentist suspected and so we had to do outpatient surgery at the hospital and they had to put her under to do all the work....very traumatic! Yesterday a completely different story she went back by herself, let them clean, polish and even floss her teeth. Then let the dentist check them and to top it off she let them do a fluoride treatment. Not once did she cry. Such a big girl and she was proud of her little pearly whites... showing and telling everyone about the dentist!

A Wonderful Morning

Once again we woke up to a lot of snow....and I mean a lot! I went outside to investigate and I stepped on the sidewalk and my foot sunk in...the snow is well above my ankle! It is beautiful but makes driving horrible, a good thing I don't have to go anywhere. And we have been up for two hours and it continues to snow and snow and snow and snow.
I watched the news this morning and there is going to be a wind chill advisory starting this afternoon til Friday night with a lovely windchill of -20 to -30 (and YES those are NEGATIVE NUMBERS)! I am predicting the future but I know we won't be going anywhere tomorrow either, hopefully we will get out and play this morning before the chilly temps come in!

What a Helper

Yesterday Madison was helping me clean the kitchen and load the dishwasher and we ran out of paper towels when it came to wipe the counters off. So I asked Madison to go and get some out of the cabinet and I didn't think much of it. A little while later.....still no paper towels......I went to investigate, she said she had already gotten new paper towels, I went to check it out and this is what i found. TOILET PAPER! She even used two rolls so it would be the same height! What a little helper and a thinker! =)

Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam!

It is official. Madison is a Sunbeam in Primary. She was so excited to be in , "church with the big kids" (in her own words). She did pretty well, even with me in there, there were bathroom breaks and the need for some water, but all in all she did okay. She loves her teacher and they made princess crowns and said "I am a Child of God" on them and she loves that she is a princess! Madison even had the opportunity to give the closing prayer, she got up to the microphone and said the prayer all by herself (makes me proud)! It was a short prayer but at least she got up there all by herself, no help from anyone else. Now she says she can't wait to have her turn at the microphone to talk about Jesus. She is so cute...with all this excitement we are now going to start counting down the days til Garrett is in nursery. He will not sit still and he wants to talk really loud and make noises...but we still have 9 more months to go...wish us luck!

And amiss all the excitement.....i forgot to take a picture! I will take one on Sunday and post it a week late but it will work.

Makeup and Nails

Beautiful Madison , Madison's Fingernails , Diantha's Fingernails

Such is a girls life!

Madison decided she wanted to use her play makeup she got for Christmas and make herself over (with supervision this time) . She painted her own fingernails and even got to paint Diantha's fingernails too. I was pretty impressed by her ability to paint her own fingernails and also to paint mine I fully expected more nail polish on my skin then actually on the nail itself.

9 Months Old

Garrett is 9months old today!

Weighing in at a hefty 22 lbs 8 ounces.

A growing at a steady length of 29 inches!
He is happy and healthy and full of life, in fact I tried to get a more serious picture but every time I put the camera up to take a picture Mr. Grin came out! I love how happy he is all the time!

I'm ready!

Dressed and ready to go as she puts it. The color combo is amazing don't you think? Madison even did her own hair(a little harder to tell that) Lots of barrette's! She insisted she would be okay in shorts and a tank top outside, I think not! BRRRRRRRR

Favorite Place

This is Garrett's favorite place to be. He loves to stand up next to the door and look out and than we goes on to beat on the window, but he smiles and laughs and sure does love it there, even after it gets dark it is favorite place he just crawls under the curtains and stands up!

Birthday Flowers!

Diantha celebrated her 26 Birthday on December 29th and received 2 bouquets of flowers. Tulips (from Amy, Andy and Abigail), which a favorite and than a mix of roses and lily's(From Dave, Madison and Garrett). They are both beautiful and smell wonderful!

We also got to go out.... which was wonderful and the best part was we got to go out without any kids. Should have taken the camera and marked that one down in history. We went out for dinner and than over to some friends for cake, ice cream and some game playing. It was a great night. Especially since we weren't having to worry about two little ones at the table. They had a blast with the babysitter Madison didn't mind that we went out with out her.

The Littlest Cook

This is why 3 year olds need alarms! She was supposed to be taking a nap everyone else in the house was but I heard something and good thing I woke up Madison had gotten the beater from the Kitchen Aid and was going to mix up some eggs as she told me! What a silly girl. She had managed to crack 6 eggs in a bowl throw the shells away and mix it up all the while she only managed to get a few shells in the mixture. Boy was she proud of herself, didn't seem to see anything wrong with what she was doing!

Standing Tall

I do suppose that Garrett was going to start the New Year out right, by STANDING TALL! That's right lady's and gentleman he is standing. The longest today was for a few minutes! He is just 2 days shy of being 9 months. I am afraid the walking will be very soon and the way he climbs and maneuvers now, we will never be able to take out eyes off of him! He has even sorta figured how to fall back down gracefully, squats a little bit and than boom down he goes it is very cute to watch.

And the drool! It just comes and comes and comes! (Tonight before he went to bed a tooth has emerged on the top, it broke the skin sometime today. What is weird is Madison got the 2 middle bottom teeth and than the top middle teeth in that order Garrett has gotten the bottom ones but the one in the top is one of the side teeth......at least he is getting more teeth!
