Birthday Treats

Life of a kid with a summer birthday hit Madison hard. She was so disappointed that she would not be able to take in birthday treats and get sung too, to make it worse her birthday is the week after school gets out. We asked her teacher and we got to bring in treats so we made ice cream cupcakes.
The cupcakes were fun to make the only problem was how to get them to school. SO we got creative we took a half sheet cake pan taped card stock strips and punched circles.

IT WORKED PERFECT!

The kids loved it and thought it was really neat.
Garrett thought it was great because he got to go to school too and he loved it!

Life at our house

Life for the last 2 weeks has been nothing but banging, drilling, filling, workers in and out, and cranky kids too.
For the last 2 weeks we have had insulation blown in the walls of the house. Oh how I hope this makes a difference in our outrageous heating bills.

It was a trying 2 weeks.
I am glad they are done. They even had the old insulation taken out of the attic and new blown in.

Other fixes were done and our house has been weatherized!

Mckenzie 8 weeks

I know, I know a little late, but better than never.
Mckenzie went to the Dr. for a routine 8 weeks appointment. She got 3 shots and she was a trooper! The Dr was almost done when she finally decided to cry.
She is healthy and was full of smiles for the Dr.

Weight - 11 pounds 10 ounces
Length - 23 inches

The funny thing about this appointment is she was at birth out heaviest weighing in 3 pounds heavier than her brother and sister. Now at 8 weeks she is 2 ounces smaller then her sister at this age and 1 pound smaller than her brother.

She has changed so much. I now have people asking if she was real little at birth boy are they surprised by her birth weight.

Some great things about Mckenzie, she smiles at anyone who will talk to her. She is so lovable and loves to be swaddled and snuggled up next too. I am surprised she still wears 0-3 month clothes. I remember thinking in the hospital how quickly she would grow out of clothes!

We sure do love Mckenzie!

Pay it Forward

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.

This offer does have restrictions and limitations:I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!

1.What I create will be just for you.

2.It will be done this year. You may have to be patient.

3.You will have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry or maybe even some creation I haven't invented yet. I may draw or paint something. {now that might be interesting.} I may bake you something and mail it to you. I may even sew something for you.

Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!

4.I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who comment on your blog.

Mother's Day

I love that we go to church in the afternoon on a day such as Mother's Day!! This resulted in breakfast in bed! Blueberry Pancakes and bacon and it was so good. I do believe that Dave finally saw how early the kids get up, he told Madison to wake him up and sure enough she did and he didn't want to get up. I didn't sleep in, Mckenzie needed my attention but I got to lay in bed and have the tv remote to myself.

I love my three little ones and even though some days are tough and by the end of the day I am mentally and physically exhausted. They may not listen...alot of the times and they may be into everything but I still love them. They will grow up faster then I want them too, and although I am secretly waiting to see what they become I want to enjoy them now too.

Madison is a little mommy and is so helpful. I love that she is getting to the age that we can go to the movies or watch a movie together at home and she gets the movies. She can be a little high maintence at times, and if things don't go as planned she can come unglued. But I love her and she is such a girl and likes things all girly!

Garrett is a ball of energy, he can find a way to climb on anything and everything. He is sweet one minute and a little mean the next but he means well =) He is all boy, he is constantly hungry, how do you even begin to extinguish the hunger, he is going to eat us out of our house. He is the first one to snuggle up next to you! He has some of the best expressions when he talks. I love that he is showing so much interest in the things his dad does, he really looks up to him.

Mckenzie, we are just really figuring her out. She reminds us of both Madison and Garrett but she has her own personally too. I love to just look in her eyes and look at the way she intently looks at you. I love that she is starting to smile all the time, and beginning to find her little voice. I also love that someone can be holding her, I can talk and she will look to where I am talking! She knows her mom!

I love them and I hope to be able to give them opportunities to learn and grow as they develop into people who will do great things!

Dinostars!

On Tuesday night, Madison's school had a musical. It was short and sweet. The kids all sang their hearts out. Each of the songs were all about dinosaurs. Each song had motions with it. So cute and she loved being in her first experience with being in a performance other than church.

Here is Madison doing her best T-Rex impression.

Isn't she so cute! All the kids got to keep their t-shirts.
