The kids got bundled up and they could not wait to get out in the snow, quite a task for them to walk in. We measured the snow and had 13 inches in our backyard...YIKES! Garrett made it a little longer outside this time.
Of course the day it snowed Garrett left his gloves in the car so we had to improvise.....knit gloves, covered in sandwich bags, and then his mitten gloves(they are not water proof). And then to top it off I taped his gloves to his jacket cuff with packing tape. His hands were so warm when I took everything off. We have used the packing tape before and it works wonders, no more snow down their gloves or up their jacket sleeves. And their gloves do not fall off!
We make them work too, this is not all fun and games. At least Madison tried with all her might to clear the sidewalk to the garage. She would get the shovel full of snow and then not be able to dump the snow. She tried for a good 20 minutes to clear it off. But ultimately what you see is as far as she got......I gave her high fives for effort.
Our street is a mess, and Dave got stuck in the alley last night but we are surviving and thankful that through it all we didn't loose power at all!
