So out of order....

This Pretty Girl Turned 8

It is hard to believe that our little girl is growing up. She turned 8 this year, which is a big deal. She was baptized a member of our church. She was so excited to make this choice. She looked so beautiful in her white dress and he big smile!
I can't wait to watch her grow up and see who she becomes!

Better Late....than never

Here are the kids on their first day of school. Madison started 3rd grade and Garrett is now in Kindergarten half a day in the afternoon. They were both really excited. The picture of Garrett is very typical...oh his poor teacher.

The next set of pictures are their fall pictures taken at school.

Here is too a great year. We are 9 weeks in, Madison made the honor roll and had perfect attendance. Garrett is doing great they don't have letter grades but his teacher say that other than being a typical boy he is doing great. He has already passed info that they expect kids to know by the end of the year.

Halloween

Halloween this year was a lot of fun and we actually went trick-or-treating twice! Madison was mad in her picture cause I was making her stay with us, plus she didn't want her picture taken.
We had our wonderful angry birds. Dave has a costume too that hopefully I can get a picture of someday. I made the angry bird costumes for the kids and I loved that I could do this for them.
Mckenzie loved the houses that just had a bowl out and a sign to take some candy. She didn't last long and that is okay cause we have more than enough candy to last us.

Our Family Pumpkin

This is our families submission to the pumpkin decorating contest at the church Halloween Party. And guess what ......WE WON 1ST PLACE!!!!

Mckenzie and I didn't get to go but we were there in spirit.

Hopefully tomorrow I can get some good pictures of the kids in costume.

Maybe...

Maybe one day I will post with pictures.....nah. Just kidding.

You know it never fails that when we have things that need to be taken care of and have a full weekend someone always get sick. This weekend Mckenzie took the plunge. Fever of 103 for two days, throwing up, sounding like a barking seal, voice is so hoarse. She isn't eating and drinking takes lots of bribery. She is pretty pathetic.
On a good note is she wants to snuggle. This is the child that doesn't sit long enough to snuggle.
So mom is going to stay home this weekend with her during he Halloween festivities.
It is for the better. And it is amazing how things work out.
I just hope my little girl comes back a little bit.....but I will keep the wanting to snuggle!

Are you the kind of friend.....

Well your friends know what's right and your friends know what's wrong
And your friends all know sometimes its hard to choose.
But the friend who helps you see where your choices will lead
Is the kind of friend you never want to lose.

It's that friend who leads with love, doesn't push, doesn't shove
Just reminds you of the truth you've always known.
Then does more than just talk, takes your hand and starts to walk
By your side along the road that leads back home.

And this friend seems to see all the great things you'll be
Even when some things you do would prove him wrong.
But he always believes that the real you he sees
Is a champion he's simply cheering on.

And the love that you feel from a friend that is real
Is more powerful than anything on earth.
For it lifts and it grows and it strengthens and flows
It's what allows the soul to feel just what they're worth.

So many lonely souls are calling
and a brighter star would not be falling
if only they had a friend
a real friend

Everyone hopes to find one true friend who's the kind
They can count on for forever and a day.
Be that friend, be that kind that you prayed you might find
And you'll always have a best friend, come what may

Limits

Ahhhhhh.....my kids are driving me crazy! I could say it is because it is so incredibly hot outside so we are stuck inside alot! I don't think so! They have forgotten how to listen. I have decided they speak a different language. Taking away activities isn't working and I am tired of feeling like all I do is raise my voice. I have tried different things. Nothing is working. I am tired!

Hmmmmm

Blogging...it has been on my mind lately. To do or not to do? I go back and forth daily sometimes multiple times a day. I think about the "nothing" I feel like I have to talk about. I mean there are things happening but not much that I feel other people will really be interested in.
There are ups and downs, everyone has them. So much has happened over the last year to year and half. There have been good and bad. Moments of understanding and moments where there is no understanding. I know I don't understand that has happened or why it has happened. But I do know that my family, Dave, Madison, Garrett, Mckenzie and myself have to try and stick together. We have to work on what we are becoming. I also have to realize that I have to work on what I am becoming too. I have to try and remember me too. And there are days that it is hard to remember.

For right now I am going to try and get back on the blogging wagon. I may not be on top of everything around me or be able to complete all the things I want to do. Or even find sometime to just sit and listen to what is going on around me.

Swimming

If she wasn't jumping off the side....she was being thrown in the air and loving every minute of it!
She was quite the little dare devil in the swimming pool!

I scream...you scream

We ALL Scream for Ice Cream....unless you are Garrett then you just want apple juice and nothing to do with the ice cream! Part of our Young's Dairy outing was to get ice cream. It was really good ice cream. Mckenzie had vanilla, Madison chose bubblegum, my dad had Peaches and Cream and I had Strawberry Cheesecake. It was delicious and the perfect treat to cool down from the hot weather.

Youngs Dairy

On Saturday July 3 we went and visit Youngs Dairy with my dad. They are known for their ice cream but that is a whole other post. The kids had a lot of fun. There was a big slide, batting cages, animals to pet, and minature golf. We had a lot of fun with Grandpa.

Minature Golf

My dad came to town over 4th of July weekend. First of the list to do....minature golfing with the kids. Madison is getting the concept....Garrett wanted to hit the ball very hard, but he did manage to get 2 hole in ones! Mckenzie was content with just holding her ball and everyone and awhile taking it and putting it in the hole. The kids had a lot of fun! And the last picture is typical of the pictures I get of all three of them together. We are having a hard time getting all children to look and smile....oh well!

Sprinkler Fun

When the weather finally got warm enough we found ourselves in the sprinkler in the back yard. Playing in the cool water...the green grass...and the fun of getting the slide wet and sliding down. And there is nothing like swinging on the swigns while the sprinkler hits all around. There will be many more days!! And what better day to have then to share it with friends.

And Who can resist the roll polly thighs of the cutest 1 year old around!

Madison's 7th Birthday

This year we celebrated Madison's 7th Birthday! She got a new bike and was so excited that it had a kick stand. It is the little things in life. We had a flip flop theme. The cake was having a hard time with the humidity and the hot weather but oh well. She is excited to be 7 and can't wait to turn 8 next year.
She is a great helper and is usually pretty willing to help with Mckenzie. Garrett and her fight a lot but one day they will love each other...right?
It is hard to believe that 7 years ago we welcomed this little lady into our family and the girl she is turning out to be has been fun to watch....and we can't wait for many more years to see the young women she will become and the choices and decisions she will make in her life.
We love you Madison!

Daddy Daughter Dance

Madison was able to attend a daddy daughter dance with her dad. We went one day a few weeks before and found the "perfect" dress as she says. She had so much fun trying on a million dresses and getting to spend it with one of her friends, Gracie. Pizza before the dance and ice cream afterwards was on the menu! They had so much fun and she can't wait until next year.
